A Rare Edition: Sefer Menoras Hamaor, Venice 1623. - A very rare edition of the classic work Menoras Hamaor, printed in Venice 1623. Sefer Menoras Hamaor was written by R. Yitzchak Abuhav, and was first printed in Constantinople in 1514. Ever since, it has been extremely popular. It is said to have been favored by the Gaon of Vilna, and that the Chasam Sofer even conducted a private study session together with his daughters, teaching them Menoras Hamaor. Stamp of Rabbi J.M. (Yaakov) Content (died 1898), a member of the Amsterdam Beth Din, seen on title page.  In excellent condition. Printed on crisp white paper. Margins slightly trimmed. Light stains to title page and following two leaves. Bound in a new half-leather and marbled binding.  [1], 117 pp.
