Hebrew Classic! Sefer Avnei Miluim - Complete Set, First Edition.

A complete set of Sefer Avnei Miluim, the classic work of R. Aryeh Leib HaKohen Heller on Even Haezer. Ever since its publication, it has served as a cornerstone work in the Yeshiva World.

Volume one was printed in Lemberg in 1815; volume two followed ten years later in 1825.

As is well known, this was one of the first works written by the author, however it wasn't actually published until after his death, brought to print by his son R. David with his preface. Volume two contains indices which were famously compiled by the author's son-in-law, R. Shlomo Yehuda Rappaport of Prague. Although a known Maskil, nonetheless he was an accomplished Torah scholar. As such, the occasional Chidushim found within the indices are immensely appreciated in the Yeshiva World.

The final 14 pp. of volume one contain "Meshovav Nesivos", a small work by the author written to refute the claims of R. Yaakov Lorberbaum of Lisa as published in Nesivos Hamishpat.

Both volumes are in good condition; bindings worn and mismatched.

Volume one bears the autograph of R. Chaim Yaakov Klapholtz, a renowned Jerusalem scholar who passed away in his early years. As a young adult, he was the Chavrusa of R. Shlomo Zalman Auerbach.

An inscription from the period of the printing is seen on title page of volume one, which reads: "This was given to me as a gift from our master and teacher..."

Volume I: [1], 78; 14 pp. Signature of R. Chaim Yaakov Klapholtz on front end paper. A small open tear seen on title page, repaired with old paper, with loss to text on verso. Otherwise in good condition. 36cm.

Volume II: [4], 80; 30, [1] pp. Light damp staining to title page, otherwise in very good condition. Printed on thick paper. Various ownership inscriptions on title page. Lacking 2 of [3] pp. of indices, final leaf present. 34cm.
