Classic: Sefer Kol Bo – The Fundamental Book of Halacha and Minhag, Venice 1547

A fine, complete copy of Sefer Kol Bo, Venice 1547. Ever since its publication, it has been accepted as one of the premier sources of Halacha and Minhag. It contains 148 sections, and as its name suggests, (“Kol Bo” - “All is within”) it deals with all relevant Halachos and Minhagim of the Jewish life cycle.

Although Kol Bo is frequently recited by the Acharonim, it remains a mystery as to who exactly authored the work. The Beis Yosef writes (Avkas Rochel, Siman 13) that the words of the Kol Bo are identical to Sefer Orchos Chaim, which was written by R. Aharon Hakohen of Luniel, one of the Rishonim. Based on this, some suggest that it was the Beis Yosef’s opinion that it was written by R. Aharon of Luniel. This opinion is also held by the Chida (see: Shem HaGedolim, Sefarim, Maareches Kaf), however the Shalsheles Hakabalah is of the opinion that it was authored by the Rivash.

In the Halachos of Pesach is a comprehensive commentary on the Haggadah (part 51). 

This edition was printed at the press of Marco Guistiniani, who was Bomberg’s competitor. Title within an elaborate architectural arch, seen on many books printed by Guistiniani. His printer's mark depicts a Mosque shown as the Beis Hamikdash. See: Yaari, Hebrew Printing Marks no. 16.

Stamp of Ets Haim Library seen on title. A scarce edition. 

In good condition, with occasional light stains. Small tears to outer margin of title page, with no loss. Bound in a new red leather binding.
