Midrash Rabbah – A Complete Original Set, Zhitomir 1851 - A complete, original set of Midrash Rabbah in five volumes, printed by the Shapiro Brothers, Zhitomir 1851. This edition includes the Matnas Kehunah commentary, as well as the Asifas Amarim commentary, which was compiled by R. Tzvi Ze’ev Rubinstein of Mogilev. In his introduction, he writes that it includes commentary from many Torah leaders, including that of R. Shabsi of Rashkov, based on a copy of Midrash Rabbah that he had found with his handwritten notes.  A complete, original set in their original Zhitomir bindings! Printed by R. Chaninah Lipa, Aryeh Leib, and Yehoshua Heschel Shapiro. This edition is one of the first editions complete with the Asifas Amarim commentary on the entire set.  In very good condition. Paper is browned, which is commonly found in Zhitomir imprints. Some headers trimmed. Bindings chipped in places, with signs of wear due to age.
