Teshuvos R. Moshe Alshich, Venice 1605. First Edition
The first edition of R. Moshe Alshich’s responsa, which was brought to print after his death by his son R. Chaim Alshich in Venice 1605. Contains 140 responsa ranging from issues of Choshen Mishpat, Even HaEzer and Yoreh De’ah. Of these 140 responsa, only two of them are relevant to issues of Orach Chaim.
R. Moshe Alshich (1508-1593), known as the Alshich Hakadosh, was a prominent rabbi and biblical commentator in the latter part of the sixteenth century. Towards the end of his life, he moved to Tzfas, where he became a student of R. Yosef Karo. His students included R. Chaim Vital and R. Yom Tov Tzahalon. He died in Tzfas in 1593 where he is buried.
A fine copy printed on crisp white paper. Stamps of previous owner seen on title and final leaf. Bound in a new binding, with parts of the original vellum binding incorporated into it.
