Sefer Yetzirah - Book of Creation, with commentary of the Vilna Gaon. First edition, Horodna 1806. This edition was brought to print by a foremost disciple of the Gaon, R. Mendel of Shklov, who also printed the Gaon’s commentary on Mishlei and the Haggadah. With a special introduction from the sons of the Vilna Gaon.
With many Kabbalistic diagrams throughout. Also printed with the commentaries of the Ramban, Ra’avad, R. Saadiah Gaon, R. Eliezer of Worms (The Rokeach), and R. Moshe of Butril. It is well-known that that the commentary of the Ramban was actually written by R. Ezriel of Girona, and the Rasag (R. Saadiah Gaon) commentary was written by one of the “Chasidei Ashkenaz”.
Sefer Yetzirah is a Kabbalistic work commonly attributed to Avraham Avinu. It was first printed in Mantua in 1562.
In very good condition. A tiny wormhole is seen on the title page. Final leaf closely shaved, affecting a few letters of text. Bound in a new leather binding.
