Sefer Reishis Chochma, Venice 1593. Reishis Chochmah is an important book of Kabbalah and Mussar, written by R. Eliyahu de Vidas of Tzfas. It is based largely on the Zohar. Ever since it was first printed it has been immensely popular, reprinted hundreds of times. R. de Vidas was a foremost disciple of R. Moshe Kordevero, commonly known as the Ramak.

The famed ‘Iggeres Haramban’ was first printed in this work, and it appears on pp. 371 (Sha’ar Ha’Anavah, Chapter 6). Iggeres Haramban has long been known as a cherished Segulah to merit heavenly assistance in one’s endeavors. 
 
Reishis Chochma was first printed in 1579. The present copy is the second, updated edition. Di Gara press, Venice 1593. Extremely rare!

In very good condition. Light water stains. A small open tear seen on title page, partially affecting one letter of text. Bound in an attractive 18th century French binding with gilt accents; spine partially damaged.
