Machzor for the Entire Year According to Ashkenazic Rite, Amsterdam 1781. An Impressive Copy. - A beautiful, complete copy of the Amsterdam Machzor for the entire year, 1781. A pocket-sized edition, which includes prayers and supplements for Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkos, Pesach and Shavuos, according to the Ashkenazic Rite.  At the time this Machzor was printed, it was considered a novelty to have prayers for the entire year bound into one or two volumes, as indicated on the title page. Such advantages were “yet to be found in small Machzorim”, thus making this edition very special according to 18th century standards.  Interestingly, on pp. 60 we find a special version of ”Mesiras Moda'ah” (nullification of vows), which the printer added “according to the Holy R. Yeshaya Horowitz, author of Shnei Luchos HaBris, which he sent to our city from Eretz Yisroel”. This appears in earlier Amsterdam editions as well.  A perfect copy in near mint condition. Printed on crisp white paper. With gilded edges, contemporary worn binding. Ex-library bookplate.  Very rare, especially in excellent condition such as this.  184; 176 pp.  Approx. 13cm.
