Rare: Machzor for The Entire Year - Pocket Sized Edition, Zhitomir 1858. - Presented here is an extremely rare Zhitomir edition of the Machzor, printed by the Shapiro Brothers in 1858. This pocket-sized edition contains prayers for all-year-round, including Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and Shalosh Regalim.  A complete copy such as this is extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, this particular 1858 edition has never been seen at auction. No copy is found in major libraries. We located one copy worldwide, currently held in the Gross Family Collection, Tel Aviv. Unique woodcuts for the various Zodiac signs are seen on some pages.  A well-preserved, sound copy. Worn, with light stains on some pages. Bound in an ornate, hand-tooled new leather binding. Minor worming seen on several last leaves.  182 (363) pp. 20cm.
