A Call for the Establishment of The Federation of Synagogues of America - Signed by R. Moshe Feinstein and R. Yaakov Kamenetsky. Circa 1965-1970. - A typed letter in Hebrew and signed by the two leading Torah scholars of the 20th century - R. Moshe Feinstein and R. Yaakov Kamenetsky. On official stationery of “The Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada”, calling for the establishment of “The Federation of Orthodox Synagogues of America”. The purpose of this idea was so that all affiliated Synagogues would act in accordance with our tradition and the Shulchan Aruch. At the time this letter was drafted, already fifty Synagogues had signed up, as written in the letter. No specific historical context or background is given; thus it is unclear if this initiative ever got off the ground.  Undated, although we assume it was drafted circa 1965 or the early 1970’s.  In good condition, signed.
