Rare: Sefer Amudei Olam - With A Detailed Account of an 18th Century Blood Libel, Berlin 1741. Only Edition. Copy of R. Leib Ettlinger. - Presented here is a complete copy of Sefer Amudei Olam, which was written in order to commemorate two victims of a blood libel, who were tragically accused and killed Al Kiddush Hashem. A detailed account of the blood libel is printed on pp. 2. This work contains various Derashos and novella, and was authored by R. Shmuel b. R. Ezriel from Lunzenberg to commemorate these martyrs. R. Shmuel also authored a well-known commentary on Levush, entitled “Chaguras Shmuel” (Frankfurt, 1772). This was the personal copy of R. Loeb Ettlinger, and his signature is seen on the title page. He was the head of “R. Lemele’s Koliz” in Manheim and author of “Ma’adanei Melech” on Masechta Gittin. He was the brother and disciple of famed R. Yaakov Ettlinger of Altona, author of “Aruch LaNer”. An extremely rare and uncommon work. It is uncommon to find a detailed account of a blood libel in a Hebrew book written by a leading Torah scholar. 48 pp. Vinograd, Berlin 182.
