Classic: Sefer Nefutzos Yehuda - R. Yehuda Moscato, Venice 1589.

A complete copy of Sefer Nefutzos Yehuda by R. Yehuda Moscato (1530-1593), a prominent Italian Rabbi in the 16th century. It contains 52 Derashos, Torah insights and eulogies, one for each week of the year, although they were not delivered weekly. R. Moscato also authored “Kol Yehuda”, perhaps the most well-known commentary on Kuzari (Venice, 1594).

Among the eulogies printed here are those given on the passing of many prominent Italian Torah sages, such as R. Moshe Provencal (4 Elul 1576), R. Yitzchak Foa and others. Rare.

In overall good condition. Light stains, with worming to some pages. Small marginal repair to title page, not affecting text. Old binding, very worn. Ancient ownership inscriptions seen on title page, including an inscription by Wolf HaLevi Horowitz, most probably the son of R. Meir Horowitz - MaHaram Tiktin - and grandson of R. Shmelke Horowitz of Nikolsburg.
