Sefer Ein Yaakov - Complete Set in 3 Volumes, Mezritch and Slavita. Rare.

A complete set of Sefer Ein Yaakov, made up of two important editions. The first two volumes were printed in Mezritch in 1808, and the third in Slavita at the press of Moshe Shapiro in 1817.

The Mezritch edition is of utmost rarity; complete copies have yet to appear at auction. Printed with many important Chassidic approbations, including: R. Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, R. Meir Margulies author of Meir Nesivim, R. Zvi Aryeh of Alik, as well as R. Mordechai of Koretz, son of R. Pinchos Koritzer. Both volumes are in very good condition, printed entirely on blue paper.

The third volume was printed in Slavita by Moshe Shapiro in 1817, with the approbation of R. Aryeh Leib Katzenelnbogen of Brisk, who praises R. Moshe for the beauty of his imprints. (In true Lithuanian style, no mention is made of R. Moshe Shapiro - i.e. as the son of R. Pinchos Koritzer. Instead the main focus points to the practical aspects, such as the beauty of the works he printed. In contrast, Chassidic approbations focus greatly on the lineage of R. Moshe Shapiro, highly respected amongst Chassidim).

Volume I: [2], 202-61 pp. A hole seen on pp. 95, causing loss of text, otherwise in very good condition. Printed entirely on thick blue paper.
Volume II: [1], 130 (mispaginated), 182-194 pp. A small open tear on pp. 94, with loss of text, otherwise in very good condition. Printed entirely on thick blue paper.
Volume III (Slavita): [2], 328 pp. Small marginal repairs seen on some pages, not affecting text. In very good condition. Printed on thick blue-green paper.
