Rare: An Impressive Miniature Italian Manuscript on Vellum, Circa 1820. - Presented here is an impressive manuscript written on parchment, Italy. No place or date, probably late 18th or early 19th century. Contains prayers and liturgy said at bedtime - Kriat Shema Shel Layla - according to Kabbalah (as indicated on pp. 1). This Kabbalistic version was said by the Shela HaKadosh and brought in his Siddur Sha'ar Hashamayim, (see: Siddur Sha'ar HaShamayim, Amsterdam 1717 - first ed., pp. 151): ”Here is the Seder of Krias Shema at night according to the Tikkun of the Chachmei Mekubalim, which was transmitted orally from generation to generation” (please refer to the Hebrew text for an exact quote of the text).  An impressive miniature manuscript on vellum, bound in original wooden boards. With gilded edges, and a striking colorful fore-edge design.
