Classic: Sefer Derech Chochmah - R. Moshe Chaim Luzzato, Amsterdam 1783. First Edition. - Sefer Derech Chochmah was written by R. Moshe Chaim Luzzato and published after his passing. Both this work and Ramchal’s classic work Messilat Yesharim aim to clarify man’s purpose while on earth, however there are many differences of note between the two. Derech Chochmah is written in a dialogue form between student and teacher. Thereby clarifying these matters on an intellectual level, whereas Messilat Yesharim focuses exclusively on the practical aspect of achieving perfection with guidance on how to arrive at that goal.
