Sefer Shev Shemaitsa, Lemberg 1837. The Personal Copy of R. Shmuel Binyamin Sofer Rabbi of Derecske. With Marginal Notes.
A complete copy of 'Shev Shemaitsa' which belonged to the Ga'on R. Shmuel Binyamin Sofer (1873-1943), son of R. Eliezer Zusman Sofer Rabbi of Paks and disciple of the 'Shevet Sofer'. He was the Rabbi of Derecske and author of 'Divrei Sofrim'.
Ownership inscriptions seen on title page, marginal notes on several pages. Possibly in his own handwriting. It should be noted that he signs his name and adds the year 1889, which means he was about 17-18 years of age at the time he inscribed his name on the title page. For this reason it is hard to determine if the marginal notes were indeed written in his handwriting at a later date.
In overall very good condition. Small rip on title page not affecting text. Small tear on second leaf causing minor loss of letters.
