Bidspirit auction | Hand Wrought Copper Pitcher, Late
Hand Wrought Copper Pitcher, Late 20th Century - C-21634 Hand-wrought copper pitcher in the form of a rustic ewer, produced in Turkey during the late twentieth century. Crafted from sheet copper with hand-hammered construction, dovetail back seam, a riveted wrought iron handle, and a flared pouring spout, the pitcher was intentionally given an antiqued appearance. The underside retains a “Made in Turkey” label, identifying it as part of the popular handcrafted copperwares imported during the 1970s–1990s. The interior is unlined. Shows moderate age-related wear including scattered scratches, scuffs, oxidation, and a well-developed patina throughout the copper surface. Minor surface dents and irregularities from hand construction are present. Wrought iron handle exhibits expected finish wear and oxidation. Interior displays oxidation consistent with an unlined copper vessel. Overall structurally sound. 6.75” Diam x 10.5” H Handle adds additional 5” to width.
