Pair Karl Gerstner ”Carro 64” Aluminum 1964 - Karl Gerstner (Swiss, 1930-2017). Pair of interactive, kinetic Op Art works titled ”Carro 64,” 1964. Each featuring an 8 x 8 grid consisting of 64 individual, painted aluminum cubes creating a ”variable picture, ” meaning the components can be manipulated, rotated, or entirely rearranged. Each with a Staempfli Gallery, New York, label adhered along the verso ink signed, titled, and numbered; one numbered 35/120 and one numbered 85/120. (Each) Height: 15 3/4 in x width: 15 3/4 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. Condition: There are no breaks or losses. Some of the panels are raised slightly more than the others; however, each element is secured. Wear along the extreme edges, including areas of the plastic casing that are loose.
