Lot Essay: Both equally well decorated in famille rose with flowers on the white glaze, but one coat with famille verte trimming in translucent enamels, and the vases in the style of the early 18th century. It is the mixture of palettes, which would have been unlikely to occur in the 18th century, which suggests that these are well painted 19th c. figures. The use of porcelain figures as wall decoration unsupported by brackets was also much more common in the late 19th century. The quality, however, is excellent, and this applies to much work of the period. Height: 8 1/2 in x width: 3 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/2 in. Condition: To the figure with red pants, there are signs of restoration or repair to the figure's right foot and right hand, specifically, the three upper fingers and wrist. To the figure with green pants, there are signs of restoration or repair to the figure's left hand and to the figure's hair elements, specifically along the left side. There are fleabite to small-sized chips, particularly along the extreme edges of the verso of the figures, and the figures' hair. To the figure with green pants, there is a moderate chip along the verso. To each of the figures, there are scattered, rounded and linear firing flaws.
