Chinese Polychrome Red Lacquer Wooden Side Cabinet - Chinese red lacquer wooden side cabinet, 20th century. Featuring two double-paneled doors decorated with intricate polychrome depictions of figural, foliate, and architectural motifs along the exterior. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 47 in x width: 31 in x depth: 15 in. Condition: The cabinet is structurally sound and stable. The doors open and close well. Separation to the joints throughout, apparent especially along the corners as well as the lower third of the cabinet. Crazing to the lacquer throughout, including areas of flaking and small losses along the lower right door, the areas of separation to the joints, and the extreme edges to the cabinet. The interior is lined with gilt paper; there are signs of moisture exposure along the interior. Tarnishing to the metal components. Wear to the feet.
