19th c. Chinese Export Floral Blue & Cream Carpet - Chinese carpet featuring stylized floral motifs executed in blue and cream, enclosed by decorative dark blue borders, late 19th century. Designed for export to the European market. Provenance: Dildarian, Inc., New York, 11 December 1986; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Length: 14 ft 3 in x width: 11 ft 8 in. Condition: There is a tear along one edge of the rug. The carpet is unevenly toned, primarily along one quadrant. Scattered areas of soiling. There are minute areas of threadbarness along the extreme edges.
