Chinese Qing Scholar & Mountains Scroll Painting - Chinese Qing dynasty ink-wash ”Lofty Scholar among Streams and Mountains” landscape painting on paper. Mounted to a silk hanging scroll depicting mountains, trees, and a dwelling. With artist's seals and calligraphy inscription along the upper right, partly translating to ”Lin quan gao shi.” Huaxin; height: 49 1/2 in x width: 20 1/2 in. Scroll; height: 71 in x width: 25 3/4 in. Condition: There are no visible tears to the painting. There are horizontal creases throughout, especially along the center third. There are scattered minute areas of soiling along the upper left quadrant and the center. Toning throughout. Wear to the scroll backing including several small losses along the upper edge, areas of soiling, and regions where the tan paper is beginning to detach from the backing. Some frits along the extreme edges.
