Chinese Ningxia Pictorial Wool Rug 7'11”x5'1” - Chinese Ningxia pictorial rug, Qing dynasty, late 19th-early 20th century. The carpet with split central field depicting a dragon amid mountains and lishui waves beneath a phoenix and elaborate assemblage of sinuous clouds. Bordered by a main stripe of alternating auspicious symbols, possibly including three-legged toads. Executed in blue and grey wools on cream ground. With fringe along the upper and lower edges. Length: 7 ft 11 in x width: 5 ft 1 in. Condition: The colors are faded. There is light dust and debris gathered in the recessed areas. Some wear to the pile along the extreme edges. A few very light stains.
