20th c. Chinese Red Silk Embroidered Opera Robe - Chinese embroidered red-ground silk mangpao opera robe, 20th century. Depicting intricate gold-wrapped thread embroidered dragons chasing flaming pearls above mountains and liushi wave borders. With a matching embroidered eye mask or headband. Full length: 59 in x shoulder-to-shoulder: 28 in x sleeve: 26 in. Condition: The colors are bold and bright. There are no major tears or losses. No major stains or odors. There is a small area of soiling along the upper right shoulder to the verso. Scattered, small losses to the embroidery throughout. Some fraying to the stitches along the seams.
