Peter Dean ”Upper Mississippi” Oil on Canvas - Peter Dean (German/American, 1934-1993). Large oil on canvas landscape painting titled ”Upper Mississippi, ” late 20th century. Depicting a river scene rendered through thick impasto brushstrokes. Featuring trees with rich red bark and purple leaves growing along the riverbank with a soft yellow river swirling with cool undertones of blue and green flowing across the canvas. Signed along the lower right. Further signed and titled along the verso. Height: 40 1/4 in x width: 56 1/4 in x depth: 1 1/4 in. Condition: There are no tears. The colors are bold and bright. There are some losses to the pigment along the lower third, particularly along the lower left corner. Light wear along the extreme edges. The work is not framed.
