Depicting the biblical harbingers of doom, Conquest, War, Famine, and Death, on horseback. Signed and dated along the lower right; further signed, titled, and dated along the verso. With a toned Des Moines Art Center label along the verso. Provenance: Distinguished Corporate Collection. Unframed; height: 72 in x width: 105 1/2 in. Framed; height: 75 1/2 in x width: 108 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/4 in. Condition: Along the lower left quadrant, there is a small repaired tear with a corresponding patch along the verso. Small losses and areas of flaking to the pigment surrounding the tear; small restorations, specifically inpainting, surrounding the area. Light dust, particularly along the verso. Wear to the frame, including losses to the silver leaf finish.
