Portfolio of 14 of the 16 lithograph prints on paper from ”Calder's Circus, ” 1964; after original drawings by Alexander Calder created between 1931 and 1932. Individual prints depicting circus scenes, including acrobats, strongmen, a high-wire performer, and animals in the artist's iconic wire-drawing style. Each with an in plate signature and date along the lower right. Including the original cloth portfolio cover featuring an introduction page by Joan Miro and an essay by Cleve Gray. (Sheet) Height ranges from 11 3/4 in to 17 in; width ranges from 12 3/4 in to 17 in. (Portfolio) Height: 17 1/4 in x width: 13 3/4 in x depth: 1/2 in. Condition: There are no tears or losses. The sheets are unevenly toned, particularly along the extreme edges. To some of the sheets, there are small creases along the extreme edges. Very light foxing. Light wear along the extreme edges. Some wear to the portfolio cover, including scratches, soiling, and small tears.
