Initialed along the lower right. Provenance: By repute, from the artist's family. Dale Laun was a prolific painter whose work encompassed a diverse range of styles, including American Hard-Edge abstraction, Stuart Davis-inspired compositions, word collages, and impressionist florals. Throughout his career, however, he remained most committed to abstract painting, creating bold, vibrant compositions distinguished by dynamic color contrasts. Laun was also a close friend of renowned artist George Morrison. Morrison is widely regarded as the founding figure of Native American modernism and is among the top American abstract expressionist painters.
