George Morrison ”Ice Jam” 2nd Edition Print 1986 - George Morrison (Grand Portage Anishinaabe, 1919-2000). Monochromatic lithograph print on paper titled ”Ice Jam, ” 1986. Depicting a complex, textured landscape composed of sharp, geometric, angular lines and triangulated shapes. The jagged, interconnected lines mimic the texture of fractured ice patterns on Lake Superior, where Morrison spent his formative childhood years and later life. Pencil signed, titled, dated, and editioned ”47/126 - 2nd ED.” along the lower right. Pencil inscription along the lower right margin, hidden under the mat, reading ”cut mat just inside pencil line.” (Sheet) Height: 11 in x width: 14 3/4 in. (Matted) Height: 16 in x width: 20 in. Condition: There are no tears or losses. Undulation to the sheet, primarily along the upper left quadrant. The sheet is affixed to the mat via two hinges along the upper edge. Light wear to the mat, including a minute area of soiling along the lower right quadrant. The work is not framed.
