Christo ”Wrapped Box” Sculpture 1966 - Christo (American/Bulgarian, 1935-2020). Conceptual art sculpture of a cardboard box wrapped in brown paper and twine titled ”Wrapped Box, ” 1966. With a Walker Art Center label adhered along the lower right recto with inked signature and date; print reading ”Walker Art Center. 1710 Lyndale Avenue South Minneapolis, Minn. 55403. 37/100. Return Requested.” and ”Mr. and Mrs. Peter Georgas, 2355 Highway 100 South, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55416.” Also with a Metered Mail label adhered along the upper right recto. With a Minneapolis Tribune clipping from October 24, 1966, featuring the image and article ”He Wraps Boxes; Statement of Art?, ” folded and placed between the twine and the box. Height: 9 in x width: 8 1/2 in x depth: 8 1/4 in. Condition: There are no visible major tears or losses. There are a few small tears and creases along the extreme edges of the wrapping paper, commensurate with age and material. There is an small area of moisture exposure along the side with the labels adhered. Light areas of soiling along the underside.
