From the ”El Negro” series, a collection of seventeen lithographs illuminating the Rafael Alberti poem ”El Negro Motherwell.” Pencil signed, editioned AP XII/XIV, and blindstamped along the lower left. Provenance: Purchased from Tyler Graphics Ltd., 1996; Private Minnesota Collection. Reference: ”Robert Motherwell: El Negro, ” Tyler Graphics Ltd., 1983, pg. 13. Sight; height: 15 1/4 in x width: 37 1/2 in. Framed; height: 19 1/2 in x width: 41 3/4 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. Condition: There are no tears or losses. The sheet is slightly undulated. Light wear along the purposefully deckled edges. Floated in frame atop a nonacidic mat. Small areas of skimming along the verso of the mat. Framed under plexiglass. Light wear to the frame. Not inspected out of frame.
