Ellsworth Kelly ”Jaune sur Jaune” Lithograph 1964 - Ellsworth Kelly (American, 1923-2015). Lithograph print on paper titled ”Yellow over Yellow (Jaune sur Jaune), ” from the ”Suite of Twenty-Seven Color Lithographs, ” 1964. Featuring a minimalist composition depicting two vertically stacked, yellow rounded squares against a white ground. The upper square is larger and ochre-toned, visually compressing the lower, smaller, canary yellow square, establishing a heavy sense of gravity. Pencil signed along the lower right; numbered ”34/75” along the lower left. With a Dayton's Gallery 12 label adhered along the verso listing title and date. Sight; height: 35 1/4 in x width: 23 1/2 in. Framed; height: 35 3/4 in x width: 23 3/4 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. Condition: There are no tears or losses. The sheet is very lightly undulated. Light wear along the deckled edges. There are two residual framing hinges along the verso; there is a region of skimming along one of the former hinges. The work is framed in a plexiglass or plastic case. Wear to the casing including, a small crack and depression along the upper edge. Wear along the extreme edges of the casing.
