Malcolm Myers ”The Battle of the Knights” Intaglio - Malcolm Haynie Myers (American, 1917-2002). Intaglio print on paper titled ”The Battle of the Knights, ” 1952. Depicting figures on horseback charging across a landscape along the upper section, while arrays of elongated lances slash horizontally across the center creating a dynamic sense of movement. Pencil signed and dated along the lower right; numbered 7/38 along the lower center; titled along the lower left. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Sight; height: 18 1/2 in x width: 24 1/4 in. Framed; height: 28 in x width: 34 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. Condition: The sheet is toned. There are areas of foxing throughout especially visible along the lower margin. There is a light undulation to the sheet. No visible tears, losses, or restorations. Housed under a clothbound mat and framed under glass. Light wear to the frame; not inspected out of frame.
