Depicting a row of washerwomen, also called lavendieres, working along the edge of a canal rendered in the impressionist style. Signed and possibly titled along the lower right; title is partially obscured by the frame. Provenance: Arvest Galleries, Boston, MA, November 23, 1988; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Unframed; height: 10 in x width: 8 in. Framed; height: 15 3/4 in x width: 13 1/2 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: The painting is in good condition overall. There are some small scattered areas of touchup along the basket. Some soiling along the verso, the frame has wear.
