Robert W. Wright ”Taking Aim” Oil Painting 1886 - Robert W. Wright (British, fl. 1871-1906). Oil on board painting titled ”Taking Aim, ” 1886. Depicting a young boy lighting a toy cannon as his sister looks on anxiously with her hands covering her ears. Signed and dated along the lower right. With a wooden plaque affixed along the lower section of the frame bearing artist's name, date, and title. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Unframed; height: 7 3/4 in x width: 10 in. Framed; height: 12 in x width: 14 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: There are no visible losses. The colors are bold and bright. Due to a thickly applied varnish, it is difficult to ascertain whether there are areas of restoration or inpainting. There are three small and light scratches along the upper left quadrant. Light wear along the extreme edges. Light wear to the frame. Not inspected out of frame.
