Robert W. Wright ”Off to School” Painting 1886 - Robert W. Wright (British, fl. 1871-1906). Oil on board painting titled ”Off To School, ” 1886. Depicting a young girl holding her schoolbooks as she patiently waits for her brother to tie his shoes before heading to school together. Signed and dated along the lower right. With a wooden plaque affixed along the lower section of the frame bearing artist's name and title. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Unframed; height: 8 in x width: 6 in. Framed; height: 12 in x width: 9 1/2 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: There are no visible losses. The colors are bold and bright. Due to a thickly applied varnish, it is difficult to ascertain whether there are areas of restoration or inpainting. Light wear along the extreme edges. Light wear to the frame. Not inspected out of frame.
