Charles Woodbury Seascape Oil on Canvas Painting - Charles Woodbury (American, 1864-1940). Oil on canvas laid board maritime painting, late 19th or early 20th century. Depicting a seascape as a sailboat begins to near the harbor for docking. Featuring a town along the coastline with a prominent windmill and church steeple. Signed along the lower left. With an Arvest Galleries label adhered along the upper stretcher of the frame along the verso. Provenance: Arvest Galleries, Boston, MA, November 23, 1988; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Unframed; height: 10 1/4 in x width: 14 in. Framed; height: 16 1/2 in x width: 20 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/2 in. Condition: The painting is in good condition overall. There are some scattered areas of touchup throughout, most as small as a pin hole. There is some larger areas of touchup along the middle right edge visible under UV. The painting is relined with wax. The frame has some wear.
