Elmyr de Hory ”The Rooster” Aft. Picasso Painting - Elmyr de Hory (Hungarian, 1906-1976). Gouache on paper painting titled ”The Rooster, ” 20th century. Depicting a cubist-inspired rooster in vibrant greens, blues, oranges, and yellows against a grey ground. Signed ”Picasso” along the upper right; after the painting titled ”The Rooster” (1938) by Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973). Pencil signed by de Hory along the verso. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Sight; height: 28 1/4 in x width: 21 in. Framed; height: 41 in x width: 33 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. Condition: The colors are bold and bright. No signs of restoration or inpainting under UV light. Light wear to the frame. Framed under glass; not inspected out of frame. The work has slightly slipped in front of the mat along the upper right corner.
