Victor Arnautoff Woman Reading Oil Painting - Victor Arnautoff (Russian/American, 1896-1979). Oil on board painting depicting a woman laying in the grass reading a book next to a body of water. The woman is Victor’s wife, Lydia Blonsky, who he often used as a subject for his paintings. Signed along the lower right; initialed along the lower left. Provenance: By repute, purchased from the estate of the artist's son. Height: 20 in x widthth: 16 in x depth: 1/4 in. Condition: The colors are bold and bright. The varnish is lightly toned. There is discoloration and minute losses to the pigment along the extreme edges, possibly from previously being housed in a frame. There are tide lines along the verso. Work is not framed.
