Cameron Booth ”Patches of Snow” Oil Painting 1978 - Cameron Booth (American, 1892-1980). Oil on canvas-laid board painting titled ”Patches of Snow, ” 1978. Depicting horses grazing on a grassy area with a few persistent piles of snow. Initialed along the lower right; further signed, titled, and dated along the verso. Unframed; height: 11 3/4 in x width: 15 3/4 in. Framed; height: 14 1/4 in x width: 18 in x depth: 1 1/4 in. Condition: There are no breaks or losses. There are no signs of inpainting when inspected under UV light. There is an area of soiling along the left side of the linen mat, which fluoresces under UV light. There is soiling along the verso, including a horizontal area that corresponds to the aforementioned area of soiling along recto. To the backing along the verso, there is a small loss along the upper edge and a partial tear along the lower edge; neither is visible along the recto. Some wear to the frame. Not inspected out of frame.
