3 18th c. European Etching Prints - Group of three 18th c. etching on paper prints. Including: One titled ”The End of the Beggar, ” by Jan Gillisz Van Vliet (Dutch, 1608-1665), a pupil of Rembrandt, with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Minneapolis Institute of Art. One titled ”Mercury and Argus, ” by Claudio Lorrain (French, 1600-1682), signed in print and dated 1662 along the lower right margin. One titled ”Casta Placent Superis, ” depicting the biblical story of Susanna and the elders, titled along the upper left. Sight; height ranges from 4 in to 7 1/2 in; width ranges from 3 in to 10 in. Framed; height ranges from 15 1/2 in to 17 in; width ranges from 15 1/2 in to 22 1/2 in; depth ranges from 3/4 in to 1 1/2 in. Condition: The sheets are toned. To one of the prints, there are a few small tears and creases. To another, there is a small loss along the upper edge. The sheets are toned. Some soiling and undulation to the sheets. Two prints are floated in frame under nonacidic mats and framed under glass. One print is floated in frame under an acidic mat and framed under glass. Light wear to the frames. Not inspected out of frame.
