Lrg German Oldest Volkstedt Figure of Harlequin - Oldest Volkstedt, Germany. Large figure of Harlequin, ca. early 20th century. Modeled in Art Deco style as a grape picker in white breeches and waistcoat, shoes with gilt buckles, and a yellow cape. Blue crowned monogram mark. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 29 in x width: 16 in x depth: 6 3/4 in. Condition: There are two hairline cracks along the base of the figurine. There are signs of restoration to the base. There are two losses to the grapes within the basket. Some small chips and a loss to the rightmost foliate elements. Some wear to the pigment. There is a label affixed to the verso of the figure.
