German Porcelain Model of Parrot - German porcelain model of a parrot, ca. late 19th century. Painted in vibrant blue plumage with a yellow bellow and green cap. Blue crowned initials along the underside. Provenance: Christie's, New York, NY, ”European Porcelain and Pottery, ” November 29, 1979, Lot 22; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 10 in x width: 5 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/2 in. Condition: To the applied foliate elements, there are some chip and losses. One small branch or bunch of leaves has been lost along one of the branches where the feet of the parrot rests. Light wear to the gilt and pigment. Light wear to the underside.
