Pair Coalport John Rose Flower Encrusted Bowls - Coalport (John Rose), England. Pair of flower encrusted covered bowls, ca. 1820. Each with entwined strap handles, scroll feet, and gilt trim amongst profuse flower decoration. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each) Height: 4 1/2 in x width: 5 1/2 in x diameter: 3 in. Condition: There are breaks and losses to the petals of the applied floral elements throughout. There are signs of restoration and areas that fluoresce under UV light throughout, particularly along the pigment of the applied elements, and especially along the lid. Both cups with a repaired breaks to one of the handles and a re-attached floral element along the upper quarter of the vessel. Some crazing throughout. Light wear to the gilt along the extreme edges. Light wear to the rims and feet.
