Pair 20th c. Chinese Porcelain Pilgrim Flasks - Pair of Chinese late Qing dynasty famille rose porcelain pilgrim flasks, early 20th century. Both pilgrim flasks with mirrored cartouches along either side. One cartouche depicting eight immortals; the opposite cartouche depicting birds and foliage. Each with two applied gilt dragon-form handles. The underside bearing a stamped red four-character seal mark. (Each) Height: 14 1/4 in x width: 10 in x depth: 3 1/4 in. Condition: Crazing to the enamel along each vessel. There are scattered areas of flaking and some small losses to the enamel along both vessels. There are some losses and areas of wear to the gilt, particularly along the rims. To the vessel depicting birds along the left half of the cartouche, there is a loss to the tail of one handle and two repaired breaks to the tail of the opposite handle; there is an additional area of restoration along the rim, corresponding with a hairline crack that extends approximately one inch downward from the rim. Dust and debris gatherered along the interiors. Some accretions along the footrims.
