Jugtown Art Pottery ”Old Chinese” Han-Style Vase - Jugtown Pottery, Seagrove, North Carolina. Art pottery ”Han” or ”Old Chinese” style storage jar vase, early 20th century. Stoneware with mottled turquoise and oxblood glaze. Featuring two applied lug handles along the shoulder. Impressed early ”Jugtown Ware” mark along the underside. Height: 10 in x diameter: 8 in. Condition: There are no major losses. Crazing to the glaze. There are areas along the rim that fluoresce under UV light, however, it is difficult to discern whether this is inherent to the glaze used or a sign of restoration. There is a small toned hairline crack extending approximately 1 inch upward from footrim; there is a second hairline crack radiating towards the shoulder from a repaired break, measuring approximately 1 inch in diameter, along the underside of the footrim.
