William Day Gates for Teco Pottery #432 Vase - William Day Gates (American, 1852-1935) for the American Terra Cotta & Ceramic Company, Illinois, United States. Teco Prairie School art pottery earthenware vase, model no. 432, ca. 1904. Of geometric form with two buttress handles along each side. Executed in the signature Teco matte green glaze. Impressed stamp mark along the underside. Literature: Sharon S. Darling & Richard Zakin, ”Teco Art Pottery of the Prairie School, ” Pennsylvania: Erie Art Museum, 1989, p. 158. Height: 11 1/2 in x width: 4 in x depth: 3 3/4 in. Condition: There is an area of overspray indicating a possible restoration along the shoulder of the vase. Light wear to the footrim.
