Signed and dated along the lower left. Florence Wales was an artist, teacher, and officer in the Handicraft Guild of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Guild was founded by a group of women interested in creating a more formal Arts & Crafts education, while maintaining the values of individual production, creativity, and efficiency.
