Navajo 3rd Phase Revival Chief's Blanket 5'4”x6'1” - Dine (Navajo) Native American wool Third Phase Revival Chief's blanket, Four Corners or Teec Nos Pas region, ca. 1910. The textile with central banded field depicting eight partial diamonds along the edges, surrounding a prominent central stepped and layered diamond medallion. Bordered by a repeating band of hooked motifs. Executed in red, brown, and cream wools. Length: 5 ft 4 in x width: 6 ft 1 in. Condition: There are signs of restoration to the textile. The colors are faded along the A-side, but remain bold and bright along the B-side. There are signs of repair to the left center edge and a band of fabric and velcro stitched to the upper edge. No odors. No signs of current insect activity. Some wear along the extreme edges including breaks to the selvage. There are losses along the lower left and upper right tassels. There is a faint area of soiling along the lower left quadrant of the B-Side.
