Pr Plains Native American Child's Boot Moccasins - Pair of Southern Plains Native American beaded child's high-top boot moccasins, ca. late 19th century. Likely Kiowa. The leggings of sinew-sewn and ochre-pigmented hide construction decorated with narrow banded beadwork panels along the shins and ankles, as well as a circular medallion along the vamp. The thread-sewn beadwork depicting repeating geometric motifs executed in magenta light blue, white, and green beads. Accented by leather fringe. Each ink numbered ”731” and ”730” along the collar. (Each) Height: 10 in x width: 2 in x depth: 4 1/2 in. Condition: Wear throughout commensurate with age. There are scattered losses to the beadwork and some breaks to the stitching. Some brittleness to the leather. To one boot, there is a repaired tear along the upper rim of the boot and newer stitching to the seam along the front. Wear to the soles.
